Fred Schneider was born in Victoria, Minnesota, on June 20, 1923, to Leonard and Frances (Notermann) Schneider. He was the third oldest with five brothers and one sister.

His most memorable experience after ordination and first Mass, was his 30 years of service as a missionary in Brazil.

At the present time, he is busy keeping up with the five languages that he knows. He is most gratified by the faith and trust that people have in him as a priest and being able to share his religious experiences with his fellow friars.
