Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, Fr. Vincent was born to Elwyn R. and June (Taylor) Callahan on Christmas eve, December 24, 1941. He was the eldest of three brothers and one sister.

He enjoys traveling. His most memorable experience has been being a confessor at St. Peter's Church in the Loop, Chicago, IL.
