Franciscans Love . . .

People are the same all over the world. They work, they play, they laugh, they cry. It's just that some have three strikes against them from the start. Some live in poverty, some are ignored, some are victims of war and political oppression; all are loveable, all are God's people.

The Franciscans have been ministering to God's needy all over the world, especially in Brazil, Zaire, Taiwan, Alaska and here in the "lower 48" states. They try to reach out to them, to be the hands and mouth and heart of Jesus to them, to share with them faith, an education, some hope for the future, a new life, the ability to "make it on their own".

The Franciscans invite you to become partners with them in this ministry of love and compassion. By using our All Occasion Greeting Cards and enrolling yourself and friends in the Franciscan Missionary Union, you become partners in the work of the Franciscan Missionaries and also share in many spritual benefits. It's an invitation you cannot afford to turn down. Please join us!

Membership in the
Franciscan Missionary Union

The Franciscan Missionary Union is a worldwide association, through which members become partners with Franciscan Missionaries as they reach out to suffering and oppressed peoples in many lands, bringing them the love and compassion of Jesus. In appreciation for this partnership, many spiritual benefits are enjoyed by all members.

Individuals or families (living or deceased) may be enrolled in the Franciscan Missionary Union. Membership takes on specific significance when given in the name of or for another person. It makes an appropriate gift for those special occasions that arise throughou the year, and is a sincere expression of love.

Depending on the type of enrollment selected, members will receive beautifully illustrated certificates of membership. It is a small token of appreciation for support of the Franciscan Missions. As missionary partners, members help bring the message and spirit of Jesus to people who need it most - the sick are cared for, the hungry are fed, freedom is brought to the oppressed, hope and new life are offered to those who have reason to despair.

Together, all members - through the Franciscan Missionaries - are the hands, the feet, the heart of Jesus ministering to His people who are most in need.
