DISPLAYS AND TOURS
The displays are an effort by the Franciscan Archives to shares not only the rich history
but many valuable artifacts as well. The display case is accessible to everyone and located near
the receptionist's office on the main floor of the Provincial House in Saint Louis, Missouri. Each
exhibit is based on a specific Franciscan subject or friar and remains on display from three weeks
to three months.
The current display is entitled:
Province Tailors.
Previous displays included:
In Honor of the Franciscan Military Chaplains.
In addition to our researchers are the curious who visit the archives for the first time to
gain a deeper understanding of the many facets it contains. Interestingly enough, in the late
1970's, the International Council on Archives (ICA) proposed a week be dedicated to Archives
Week. The Franciscan Archives devotes the first week in October entirely to groups of
approximately 10-15 persons to tour our repository. The young and old are invited to see many
of our artifact first hand which ordinarily are not seen at any other times.

Tours are available during working hours Monday - Friday (8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
We are very excited to report that in the Fall of 2001 a local group known as the Dutchtown
Tours will be including the Franciscan Archives in their program designed for the educators in the
greater Saint Louis area.
